Wu-Tang Clan has introduced a unique new element to its farewell tour—a traveling time capsule. The Wu-Tang Forever Time Capsule will accompany the group on their final tour, titled “Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber.”
The legendary hip-hop group unveiled the time capsule during a surprise appearance with comedian Dave Chappelle at his YS Firehouse in Ohio last Friday. The capsule will be part of the Shaolin Temple VIP Experience, a special feature of the tour that allows fans to contribute personal items to the collection.
“From the basements of Staten Island, we created something timeless,” said RZA, a founding member of the group. “Now we invite you to be part of that inspiration. In every city, we’ll add something new to the capsule—something from your city to connect with Wu-Tang fans around the world.”
The capsule will only be displayed at the Shaolin Temple VIP area. RZA emphasized it as a tribute to the group’s legacy and a way for fans to help build that legacy city by city.
Dave Chappelle added to the capsule by donating a signed Wu-Tang vinyl from his own collection. “Thanks to the Wu for showing Ohio love,” said Chappelle. “Each city has a chance to contribute. I repped for YS.”
The final tour, “Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber,” begins June 6 in Baltimore. “This tour is a special moment for me and all my Wu brothers,” RZA said. “We’re going around the globe one more time to share our music, culture, and gratitude with our fans. We’re even performing songs we’ve never played live before. It’s a show unlike anything fans have seen from us.”
Joining Wu-Tang Clan on the tour is the hip-hop duo Run the Jewels.
