A Mississippi man has been charged with felony stalking and vandalism after crashing his car into the front gate of actress Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air home, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
The suspect, identified as Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, also faces an aggravating allegation of posing a threat of great bodily harm. His arraignment is scheduled for May 8, with bail set at $150,000. If convicted, he could face up to three years in state prison.
According to prosecutors, Carwyle had been harassing Aniston for more than a year—from March 1, 2023, to May 5, 2024—by sending her repeated emails, voicemails, and social media messages without consent.
On May 5 at around 12:20 p.m., Carwyle allegedly drove his vehicle through the front gate of Aniston’s residence and came to a stop in her driveway. A security guard detained him until law enforcement arrived.
“Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions,” said District Attorney George Gascón. “My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable.”
Gascón also thanked law enforcement and the office’s Stalking and Threat Assessment Team for their coordinated efforts. Deputy District Attorney Sam Hulefeld is leading the prosecution.
