Alex Warren has officially claimed his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his breakout single Ordinary. The romantic ballad reached the top spot in its 16th week on the chart, climbing from No. 4 to No. 1. The song earned 21 million official streams and recorded 44 million radio airplay audience impressions, according to Luminate.
For the California-based singer-songwriter, Ordinary marks a major breakthrough. While it is Warren’s second song to appear on the Hot 100—following Burning Down, which peaked at No. 69 last October—this is his first track to reach the chart’s summit.
“We wrote Ordinary in December last year, started teasing it in January, and released it in February,” Warren told Variety in May. “That’s a crazy fast turnaround for the music industry, but we knew how special it was. I’ve never had a song ‘click’ so quickly. I just had to release it right away.”
The track has also enjoyed international success. In the United Kingdom, Ordinary is holding the No. 1 position for an 11th consecutive week, tying Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits (2021) as the longest-running No. 1 of the 2020s so far.
Warren first gained public attention as a member of the Hype House, a collective of TikTok creators that starred in a short-lived Netflix reality series. He transitioned to music full-time and signed with Atlantic Records in 2022. His debut album, You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1), was released in September that year.
Meanwhile, Morgan Wallen continues his strong presence on the charts. His collaboration with Tate McRae, What I Want, holds the No. 2 spot, followed by his solo tracks Just in Case at No. 3 and I’m the Problem at No. 4. Wallen’s latest album, I’m the Problem, also remains at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a second week, adding 286,000 units this week after a debut of 493,000—the highest opening for any album in 2025 so far.
