Karol G has officially announced the release of her fifth studio album, Tropicoqueta, arriving June 20. The Colombian superstar shared the news on Instagram alongside the album’s vibrant cover art, calling the project “soul, passion, memory, nostalgia, joy, celebration, and identity.”
Describing the album as “a little piece of us all,” Karol revealed that Tropicoqueta was born from a dream in August 2023. “Since then, I’ve been leaving clues along the way,” she wrote in Spanish. “I finished it with a heart full of love from every country I visited.”
The announcement follows the May 22 release of her latest single, “Latina Foreva.” The new album will be the follow-up to her Grammy-winning Mañana Será Bonito, which made history as the first all-Spanish-language album by a female artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200. That record also launched Karol’s first U.S. stadium tour and set a new benchmark for the highest-grossing Latin tour by a female artist.
Reflecting on her journey, Karol said the new album came from introspection rather than ambition. “It wasn’t about looking further, but deeper,” she wrote. “Into myself, into my roots, into the music that shaped me.”
Tropicoqueta promises to blend her personal evolution with her musical heritage, offering fans a celebration of Latin identity and sound.
