LOS ANGELES — Searchlight Pictures has announced that Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, the sequel to its 2019 horror hit Ready or Not, will be released in theaters across the U.S. on April 10, 2026.
Samara Weaving returns as Grace, the resilient bride who survived a deadly game in the original film. She is joined by a new ensemble cast, including Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, David Cronenberg, and Elijah Wood.
The sequel brings back much of the original creative team. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return, along with screenwriters Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Key crew members also rejoining the production include production designer Andrew Stearn (The Umbrella Academy), cinematographer Brett Jutkiewicz (Scream), costume designer Avery Plewes (Scream VI), and makeup head Colin Penman (The Apprentice).
New faces behind the scenes include editor Jay Prychidny (Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice), hair department head Ryan Reed (It Chapter Two), and sound mixer Thomas Hayek (Thanksgiving, The Boys).
The original Ready or Not followed Grace, a bride who discovers her wealthy new in-laws are part of a murderous cult. Made on a $6 million budget, the film grossed $28 million domestically and became Searchlight’s top release of 2019.
Production on the sequel began in April in Toronto and has now wrapped. Plot details remain under wraps.
The film is produced by Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer, and William Sherak. Executive producers include Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Guy Busick, R. Christopher Murphy, Samara Weaving, and Paul Neinstein.
Searchlight’s VP of production Richard Ruiz and creative executive Cornelia Burleigh are overseeing the project. They report to heads of production and development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.
