NEW YORK, June 3 — The 2025 Pride Awards have unveiled this year’s nominees, with major contenders including Wicked and The Wedding Banquet leading the pack in the film categories. Pop star Ariana Grande and actress Cynthia Erivo are also among the high-profile names recognized, while Wicked co-star Bowen Yang received three nominations across acting categories.
The annual Pride Awards celebrate excellence within the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies. Scheduled for June 29 at Lincoln Center, the one-day event takes place during Pride Month and includes a summit designed to amplify voices, drive advocacy, and showcase leadership across creative industries.
This year’s summit will focus on visibility, empowerment, and collaboration. Attendees can expect curated panel discussions, film screenings, and networking sessions addressing topics such as wellness, representation, and creative leadership.
N. Mabasa-Mathope, founder and president of the Pride Awards, said the event is about more than recognition. “The Pride Awards were created to honor not just the talent and accomplishments of our community, but the courage and resilience it takes to thrive and lead unapologetically,” she said. “In 2025, we’re building both bridges and legacy.”
The ceremony and summit are positioned as a milestone in LGBTQIA+ advocacy, giving the community ownership of its stories and celebrating those who use their platforms for positive impact.
