DreamWorks Animation will unveil exclusive footage from its upcoming feature The Bad Guys 2 during a special presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 11.
Director Pierre Perifel, producer Damon Ross, co-director JP Sans, and composer Daniel Pemberton will lead the session, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s development and creative evolution. The preview will take place at Bonlieu’s Petite Salle.
Set for release on August 1, The Bad Guys 2 continues the story of the popular crew of animal outlaws introduced in the 2022 hit.
In addition to the preview, DreamWorks will host masterclasses and special screenings during the festival. Among them, The Wild Robot director Chris Sanders will present a masterclass on June 12 at the MIFA Campus. The session will explore his long career in animation, his creative process, and his recent return to DreamWorks.
Sanders will also introduce an open-air screening of The Wild Robot at Le Pâquier Park. The film previously debuted at Annecy in 2024 to two standing ovations. Since its release in September 2024, The Wild Robot has earned over 85 awards, including nine Annie Awards, the Critics Choice Award for Best Animated Feature, and the PGA Award for Outstanding Animated Theatrical Motion Picture.

Under Cohn’s leadership, DreamWorks has enjoyed a strong run at the box office, with three consecutive No. 1 openings in less than a year: Kung Fu Panda 4, The Wild Robot, and Dog Man.
Looking ahead, DreamWorks continues to blend original storytelling with popular franchises. Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is set to hit theaters on September 26, followed by Forgotten Island, an original adventure from the team behind Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, slated for release on September 25, 2026. Shrek 5 is scheduled for release on December 23, 2026.
