LOS ANGELES — June 5 — K-pop star KAI of EXO is set to launch his first-ever solo U.S. tour this summer, following the successful Asian leg of his 2025 world tour. The news was officially confirmed after KAI teased the possibility during his performance at the SMTOWN Live Concert in Los Angeles last month.
The U.S. portion of the tour, presented by AEG Presents in partnership with SM Entertainment, will begin on August 28 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and wrap up on September 6 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The five-city run will also include stops in Texas, Georgia, and Illinois.
“This year’s been filled with new opportunities, and I’m so excited for this U.S. tour,” KAI told Variety. “Thank you for waiting all this time, and I promise you the show is going to be amazing. I’ll see you soon.”
The tour follows the release of KAI’s fourth solo album, Wait on Me, which features an Afrobeat-inspired title track and collaborations with artists and producers such as MAX, Duckwrth, Afro B, and Warren “Oak” Felder.
Since debuting with EXO in 2011, KAI has become a standout solo performer. His 2020 debut EP KAI included the hit single “Mmmh,” which has racked up over 200 million streams on Spotify and more than 155 million YouTube views. In 2023, he followed with “Rover,” another viral success with 180 million Spotify streams and nearly 95 million YouTube views.
While EXO last toured the U.S. in 2017 and KAI joined SuperM for a successful North American arena tour in 2019, this marks his first solo performances stateside.
Known for his sleek choreography and high-fashion presence, KAI is also a brand ambassador for Gucci and has worked with Yves Saint Laurent Beauty and Bobbi Brown.
