Sabrina Carpenter is gearing up to release a new single, Manchild, on June 5, reigniting the buzz for the song of the summer.
The Grammy-winning artist teased the upcoming track early Tuesday morning on her social media, sharing the album artwork and a snippet from a teaser trailer she posted the day before. Carpenter hinted at performing Manchild live for the first time during her upcoming appearance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 6.
In her post, Carpenter wrote, “This one’s about you!!” and also shared a link to purchase a special 7-inch vinyl. The vinyl features Manchild on side A, produced by Jack Antonoff, while side B offers a track titled Inside of Your Head When You’ve Just Won an Argument with a Man.
On Monday, Carpenter further teased the song with a 16-second teaser clip and several billboards featuring possible lyrics, including “Hey men!” and “I swear they choose me, I’m not choosing them.” In the teaser, Carpenter is seen on the side of a dirt road, wearing denim cut-offs and attempting to hitchhike, only for both a truck and car to speed by her.
Manchild marks Carpenter’s first release since the success of Short n’ Sweet, which debuted at No. 1 in September. The album’s recent deluxe edition included bonus tracks like Please Please Please (featuring Dolly Parton), 15 Minutes, Couldn’t Make It Any Harder, Busy Woman, and Bad Reviews.
