Rising British actor Kit Connor is being eyed for a leading role in Elden Ring, the upcoming live-action film adaptation of the hit video game, directed by Alex Garland and produced by A24 and Bandai Namco.
Sources tell Variety that Garland is considering reuniting with Connor following their work together on A24’s war drama Warfare. While no formal offer has been made, Connor is reportedly under serious consideration for the lead role.
Garland was recently confirmed to write and direct the adaptation, which draws from a story co-created by fantasy author George R. R. Martin (Game of Thrones) and FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki. The project will be produced by Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich (DNA), Martin, and Vince Gerardis.
Released in 2022, Elden Ring became a global phenomenon, shipping over 30 million units and winning multiple Game Awards, including Game of the Year and Best RPG. The film will aim to capture the dark, mythological tone and expansive world of the game. A spinoff, Elden Ring: Nightreign, debuts May 30, with an all-in-one Tarnished Edition coming later this year for Nintendo Switch 2.
Connor gained widespread recognition for his role as Nick Nelson in Netflix’s hit series Heartstopper, which will conclude with a feature-length film this summer. He also starred in Warfare, a gritty military film co-directed by Garland and ex-Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza, based on Mendoza’s real-life experiences.
Connor is represented by Independent Talent Group and WME. A24 declined to comment.
