Tatiana Maslany and Marwan Kenzari have begun filming Any Other Night, a romantic comedy directed by Michiel Ten Horn, marking his English-language debut. The script is written by Patrick Whistler.
The international production is produced by Mike MacMillan of Lithium Studios, Sol Bondy of One Two Films, Erik Glijnis and Leontine Petit of Lemming Film, and Karen Harnisch of Film Forge. International sales are handled by Lucky Number, a new French sales agency.
The film is set during a transit strike in Berlin, where two strangers’ lives collide. Sam (Kenzari), a struggling cab driver, and Maggie (Maslany), freshly dumped, find themselves on an unexpected late-night journey after Maggie loads her belongings into Sam’s rundown van.
Ten Horn, known for The Deflowering of Eva Van End, has been named one of Variety’s “Ten European Directors to Watch.” Kenzari is recognized for roles in Aladdin, The Old Guard, and Black Adam, while Maslany is famous for Orphan Black and She-Hulk.
The cast also features European actors such as Hannah Hoekstra, Mala Emde, and Nikolai Kinski. Ten Horn praised the chemistry between Maslany and Kenzari, calling them a “phenomenal” pair.
Producers are excited about the film’s mix of fun and light-heartedness. Any Other Night is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund, Telefilm Canada, and other funding bodies. It will be distributed by Elevation Pictures in Canada, The Searchers in Benelux, and Port-au-Prince in Germany and Austria.
Kenzari is represented by Anonymous Content and CAA, and Maslany by UTA and HJTH.
