AMC Theatres will offer half-price tickets every Wednesday for members of its loyalty program, AMC Stubs. The promotion starts on July 9, 2025, and gives Stubs members a 50% discount on the regular adult evening ticket price.
This offer adds to AMC’s existing discounts on Tuesdays. It will be available at all AMC locations in the United States. However, online ticketing fees and extra charges for premium large formats will still apply.
AMC reports that 36 million people are part of the Stubs program. The Insider tier is free to join. However, AMC notes that some movies and certain holiday periods may be excluded from the Wednesday discount.
“At AMC, we’ve worked hard to create the best moviegoing experience,” said Adam Aron, AMC chairman and CEO. “We offer more comfortable seating, premium formats, and better food and drinks. Now, we are also making moviegoing more affordable with ‘50% Off Wednesdays.’”
Aron explained that this discount was made possible because the box office is showing signs of recovery. “In April and May, the box office has been booming. We expect this upward trend to continue through the rest of 2025,” he added.
He also mentioned that Discount Tuesdays became one of AMC’s best-attended days. The company hopes to turn Wednesdays into another strong-attendance day for moviegoers.
Before the pandemic, theater chains were cautious about offering widespread ticket discounts. They usually limited discounts to matinee and children’s tickets. However, with the box office still down 32.5% compared to 2019, AMC is now exploring new ways to bring audiences back to theaters.
Upcoming July releases include “Jurassic World Rebirth” on July 2 and “Superman” on July 11.
AMC also offers the A-List program, an upgraded Stubs membership. For $28 per month, members can watch up to four movies a week.
