Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Animal Friends’ Delayed to 2026
Ryan Reynolds fans will have to wait a bit longer for the release of Animal Friends, as Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have postponed the film’s theatrical debut. Originally set for an October 2025 release, the movie will now hit theaters on May 1, 2026. Directed by Peter Atencio and written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, the film is a live-action/CGI hybrid starring Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Addison Rae, Dan Levy, Lil Rel Howery, and Ellie Bamber. The film centers on a road trip adventure and is produced by Legendary, Maximum Effort, and Prime Focus Pictures.
The delay comes despite the box-office potential of the star-studded cast. Reynolds’ recent success with Deadpool & Wolverine, which grossed $1.3 billion globally, and Momoa’s A Minecraft Movie, which has earned $948 million worldwide, only add to the film’s anticipated success.
