Ghost has made history by earning its first No. 1 album on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart with Skeletá. The Swedish hard rock band’s sixth studio album achieved the highest opening week for any rock, hard rock, or alternative album since AC/DC’s Power Up in 2020, earning 86,000 equivalent album units in the U.S.
Skeletá, which includes the single “Satanized,” is Ghost’s first full-length release since 2022’s Impera, which debuted at No. 2. Nearly half of Ghost’s album sales came from vinyl, with over 44,000 copies sold. This marks the largest sales week for the band and the biggest vinyl sales week for any hard rock album in the modern era, according to Luminate data.
The band will support the album with a tour across Europe and North America, performing in cities like Antwerp, Berlin, Paris, New York, Las Vegas, Austin, and Houston.
In the Billboard 200, SZA’s SOS remains at No. 2, followed by Kendrick Lamar’s GNX at No. 3, and Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time at No. 4. Shaboozey’s Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going jumps to No. 8 after a deluxe reissue.
