Real Housewives of Atlanta star Brit Eady has filed a $20 million lawsuit against Bravo, NBC, and production companies Truly Original and Endemol Shine North America. The suit accuses them of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false light, sexual harassment, and creating a hostile work environment related to an incident aired in an April episode of the show.
The controversy centers on former cast member Kenya Moore displaying explicit photos on poster boards during the grand opening of her hair spa. Moore claimed the images were of Eady, but Eady denies this, stating the photos were not of her and that Bravo refused to show her the images before airing the episode. The episode ended with a disclaimer noting Moore’s removal from the show due to her behavior.
Eady alleges the episode falsely implied the photos depicted her and that the defendants either knew this was untrue or were grossly negligent in failing to verify it. She also claims the hostile environment forced her to continue working amid gendered attacks and offensive behavior.
The lawsuit demands $20 million in damages and calls for the episode to be removed from public platforms. On the same day the lawsuit was filed, Moore confirmed she would not participate in the upcoming Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion taping and issued an apology for her actions.
Bravo and NBC have not publicly commented on the lawsuit.
