André Holland, Michael Jai White, and Method Man will premiere new films at the 2025 American Black Film Festival (ABFF), set to run from June 11 to 15 in Miami Beach. This year’s festival will feature narrative films from the United States, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and other regions around the world.
One of the highlights is “Love, Brooklyn” by director Rachael Abigail Holder. The film stars Holland and Nicole Beharie, telling the story of three lifelong Brooklyn residents as they face challenges in their careers, friendships, and personal losses.
Michael Jai White will present “Trouble Man”, a film he directed. The movie follows an ex-cop turned fixer who battles street gangs to find his missing ex-girlfriend. According to the official synopsis, the film will have its world premiere outside of the competition category.
Festival organizer Nicole Friday, president of Nice Crowd, shared her excitement: “We are thrilled to bring the American Black Film Festival back to Miami Beach in 2025. Our tradition of showcasing bold, original voices continues. This year’s lineup will highlight stories that reflect diverse experiences and creative visions from around the world. We look forward to an inspiring week of celebrating new talent and powerful storytelling.”
