Actors Lucy Liu and Stephanie Hsu, along with Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé, will be honored at The Asian American Foundation’s (TAAF) Heritage Summit and Awards Dinner. The event will take place May 21-22.
The two-day summit celebrates the achievements and influence of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community. Leaders from entertainment, business, public service, and grassroots organizations will gather for panels and discussions focused on identity, inclusion, and community progress.
“I’m deeply honored to receive this award from TAAF,” said Liu. “It reflects their vision of equity, representation, and lasting impact. I’m inspired by the strength of the Asian American community and committed to amplifying our voices for a more just and empowered future.”
Hsu shared a similar sentiment. “I’m so honored to receive a TAAF award and to celebrate all the ways it is, indeed, an honor just to be Asian. Our community has made great strides, and I’m eager to grow our impact in the industry and beyond.”
Ranadivé, who is the owner and chairman of the Sacramento Kings, will also be recognized. “I’m humbled and honored to receive this recognition from TAAF and to participate in such a meaningful event,” he said. “It’s a privilege to stand with leaders who uplift our communities.”
The summit will feature keynotes and panels with notable figures, including Tan France, Joe Tsai, Poorna Jagannathan, Shoba Narayan, David Henry Hwang, Pablo Torre, Juju Chang, Vicky Nguyen, and Tati Gabrielle. Fireside chats will explore AANHPI representation in film, television, and food.
A highlight of the event will be the release of the latest STAATUS Index, a national study on Americans’ perceptions of Asian American communities. Russell Jeung, co-founder of Stop AAPI Hate and professor at San Francisco State University, will present a deep dive into the findings.
Norman Chen, CEO of TAAF, emphasized the summit’s importance. “Our Heritage Month Summit brings AANHPI leaders together to celebrate who we are, reflect on our path forward, and address challenges facing our community,” he said. “This year’s theme, ‘Together We Are More,’ highlights our collective strength when we uplift each other.”
