BUENOS AIRES – New Zealand-based sales company Black Mandala has acquired international rights to No One Will Hear Your Scream, a slasher thriller set in Argentina during the 1990 soccer World Cup.
Written and directed by Mariano Cattaneo, the period horror follows Micaela, a young mixtape maker working at a record store, who discovers a serial killer is targeting victims connected to one of her compilations. As Argentina advances in the World Cup, the body count rises, and Micaela must solve the mystery before she becomes the next victim.
The cast includes Sol Wainer (A Silent Death), Byron Barbieri (El Eternauta), and Germán Baudino (What The Waters Left Behind).
Cattaneo, known for The Strangest Girl in the World on Disney+, describes the film as emotionally intense, blending classic slasher elements with a coming-of-age story, music, and football as thematic layers.
Black Mandala will present the title at the upcoming Cannes Film Market. The company, known for championing genre films, is also showcasing several other horror and thriller titles aimed at international buyers. These include Play Dead, Traumnovelle, Containment, and Lake Jesup.
