K-pop supergroup BTS is preparing for a long-awaited full-group comeback in March 2026, as all seven members complete their mandatory military service. The news was confirmed by The Korea Herald.
The group — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — has been on hiatus from full-group activities since 2022. Their return will follow Suga’s discharge, which is scheduled for this Saturday. This will mark the end of the group’s military service era, which began in 2022.
A HYBE official told The Korea Herald that BTS’ comeback is planned for March next year. The date aligns with earlier comments from HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang, who noted that the members would need time to prepare and work on creative projects after completing their service.
Industry sources suggest that the comeback could coincide with the return of labelmates Tomorrow X Together (TXT). “While the exact date is not set, I heard BTS will come back in the same month as TXT. It could be BTS first, or TXT first,” one source told The Korea Herald.
HYBE’s release plans are already shifting to accommodate BTS’ return. Enhypen, another boy group under HYBE’s Belift Lab, moved their comeback from March to January to avoid overlapping with BTS.
The March timeline gives BTS time to work with top producers and focus on new music. “We’re preparing alongside top-tier producers, but the artists also need time to reflect and prepare,” Lee said during a shareholder meeting in March.
In the meantime, Jin, the group’s eldest member, will be busy with solo activities. He will begin his “Runseokjin_EP.Tour” fan concerts on June 28-29 in Goyang. The tour will include 18 shows across nine cities, with stops in Japan, the U.S., London, and Amsterdam, running through August 10.
The upcoming release will be BTS’ first full-group project since their 2022 anthology album Proof, which came out before the group began their military service.
