Cardi B lit up Spotify’s event in Cannes on Wednesday night, delivering the live debut of her upcoming single, Outside. The track, produced by Charlie Heat and HeyMicki, will be officially released on June 20.
During the performance, Cardi rapped, “When I tell you these n—-s ain’t shit, please believe me. They gon’ fuck on anything, these n—-s way too easy. Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dogs, I’m convinced. Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a bitch.”
Many fans believe Outside is aimed at Cardi’s estranged husband, Offset. The rapper has voiced frustration with him on social media in recent weeks. On stage, Cardi admitted she was having a rough day. “I don’t know if it’s because I’m sleepy or hungry, but there’s always tomorrow,” she told the crowd.
Cardi also shared that this was her first visit to Cannes. “It’s a beautiful time, it’s a beautiful place, so let’s do beautiful music,” she said, before launching into her set.
The mini concert began with Bongos, her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. Cardi also performed hits including Bodak Yellow, I Like It, Money, Up, and WAP, her 2020 smash with Megan.
Cardi has been teasing her second album, the follow-up to her 2019 Grammy-winning debut Invasion of Privacy. She recently told fans that the album is finished and now with Atlantic Records. Before Outside, Cardi released the singles Enough (Miami) and Like What.
