BLACKPINK’s Lisa was recently seen in Switzerland with a striking new hair color, just before her highly anticipated performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2024. The K-pop star has generated buzz among fans after confirming her solo appearance at the event, where she will perform her latest singles, “ROCKSTAR” and “New Woman,” featuring Rosalia.
On August 2, 2024, Lisa was spotted on the streets of Switzerland, drawing attention with her new brown hair, a departure from her natural black. Fans speculate that this change is part of her preparation for the MTV VMAs, where she will make her solo performance debut on September 11, 2024. Previously, Lisa performed at the VMAs alongside her BLACKPINK group members Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé.
This time, she will take the stage solo, following the success of her two recent tracks, which have gone viral on social media. Notably, Lisa made history as the first female K-pop artist to win a VMA award in the Best K-pop category for her debut solo song, “Lalisa.”
Lisa began her career as a member of BLACKPINK alongside Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo. She launched her solo career in 2021 with the single album “Lalisa,” featuring the title track and the B-side “Money.” The album was a commercial success, earning her multiple awards, including the MTV Video Music Award for Best K-Pop in 2022.
In 2023, Lisa parted ways with YG Entertainment to pursue individual projects while remaining a member of BLACKPINK. She established her own agency, Lloud, in 2024, and “ROCKSTAR” is the first release under this label. Additionally, Lisa is set to make her acting debut in “The White Lotus,” expected to be released around 2025.
