Kendrick Lamar tops the list of nominees for the 2025 BET Awards with 10 nominations, reaffirming his dominance across music and visual storytelling. He’s followed by Doechii, GloRilla, and Future, who each earned six nominations.
The BET Awards celebrate Black excellence and creativity across music, film, television, and sports. Lamar’s impressive slate of nominations includes Album of the Year for GNX, Video of the Year for “Not Like Us,” and Best Male Hip Hop Artist. He also scored three Viewer’s Choice nods for “Not Like Us,” “Luther” (featuring SZA), and “Like That” (with Future and Metro Boomin), as well as three Best Collaboration entries for “Like That,” “30 for 30,” and “Luther.” He and longtime collaborator Dave Free are also up for Video Director of the Year.
Drake follows closely behind with key nominations including Album of the Year for $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, Video of the Year for “Family Matters,” Viewer’s Choice for “Nokia,” and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.
Future, also among the top contenders, earned six nominations including Album of the Year for We Don’t Trust You with Metro Boomin, Video of the Year for “Type Shit,” and Best Collaboration and Viewer’s Choice for “Like That.” He is also up for Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
SZA and The Weeknd each earned four nominations. SZA is nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Best Collaboration for “30 for 30” with Kendrick Lamar.
Artists with three nominations include Chris Brown, Ayra Starr, Lil Wayne, Maverick City Music, Playboi Carti, Teddy Swims, and Tyler, the Creator.
In the acting categories, Best Actor nominees include Aaron Pierre, Aldis Hodge, Anthony Mackie, Colman Domingo, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Joey Bada$$, Kevin Hart, Sterling K. Brown, and Will Smith. The Best Actress category features Andra Day, Angela Bassett, Coco Jones, Cynthia Erivo, Keke Palmer, Kerry Washington, Quinta Brunson, and Viola Davis.
Voting for the Viewer’s Choice awards will open soon. The 2025 BET Awards will take place on June 9 in Los Angeles.
