Shaboozey’s “Bar Song” Achieves 17th Week at No. 1 on Hot 100; Tyler, The Creator’s Album Tops Charts Again

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has made history by securing its 17th consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This remarkable achievement has set new records, with more milestones within reach.

According to Billboard, “A Bar Song” now holds the record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 by an artist without any guest features. In terms of all songs, it is now just two weeks behind the record of 19 weeks held by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus for their collaboration on “Old Town Road.” If “Bar Song” remains at the top for three more weeks, it will break this longstanding record.

Additionally, “A Bar Song” has surpassed Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night,” which previously held the record for the most weeks at No. 1 in this decade with 16 weeks. This makes Shaboozey’s track the longest-running No. 1 song of the 2020s.

Shaboozey’s continued success can be attributed in part to a lack of strong new releases this week that could challenge its position in the top ten. The songs that held positions two through four last week remained unchanged: Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile” is in second place, followed by Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.”

The rest of the top ten is filled with familiar titles. Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” climbed one spot to No. 5, marking its first Top 5 placement since April. It swapped places with Post Malone and Wallen’s “I Had Some Help,” which dropped to No. 6. The top ten also features Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things,” Wallen’s “Love Somebody,” and Tyler, the Creator’s “Sticky,” which includes GloRilla, Sexxy Redd, and Lil Wayne.

Tyler’s song debuted at No. 14 last week but has now moved up to No. 10.

On the album chart, Tyler, the Creator’s “Chromakopia” remains at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a second week, with 160,000 equivalent album units sold—down 47% from its impressive debut last week.

Two albums made significant debuts: Lil Uzi Vert’s “Eternal Atake 2” entered at No. 3 with 59,000 units sold, while The Cure’s “Songs of a Lost World” debuted at No. 4 with 57,000 units—marking their first top-ten album in over twenty years.

Other notable movements in the top ten include Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet,” which rose to No. 2 with 68,000 units sold, and Gracie Abrams’ “The Secret of Us,” which climbed two spots to No. 5 thanks to a deluxe edition release that features a rapidly rising single.

Chappell Roan’s debut album jumped six spots to No. 6 following her much-discussed appearance on “Saturday Night Live.” Billie Eilish’s album moved up to No. 7, while Rod Wave, Taylor Swift, and Morgan Wallen rounded out the list.

Overall, this week’s charts reflect a mix of established hits and new entries as artists continue to vie for dominance in an ever-changing music landscape.
