The departure of Jay Soni from Star Plus’ popular show “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” has become a prominent topic of discussion. The portrayal of his character, Abhinav Sharma, has garnered immense appreciation from fans.
Despite joining the show only a few months ago, Jay Soni’s cameo appearance turned out to be a remarkable success. As the time has come for Jay’s character, Abhinav, to bid farewell, the actor was given a heartfelt send-off by the show’s cast and crew.
In an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, Jay Soni shared insights into his journey within the show and his character’s evolution.
Regarding the transition from the show and whether it marks the end or a new beginning, Jay expressed, “I have no clue. I’m not saddened that my journey has concluded. However, the realization that I won’t be returning to the set has hit me. I felt a heaviness after filming the scene. Flashbacks emerged. Perhaps something new will commence soon.”
Reflecting on the experience of filming the climactic scene, Jay disclosed, “Yes, during the climax, I experienced flashbacks of my journey, considering my character has never died in any of my previous shows. It’s a first-time occurrence. It felt a bit strange. Memories of Kasauli and scenes with Abhir came flooding back. It was a unique sensation. While in character, I had to fight back emotions while enacting the scene.”
Speaking of the impact “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” has had on his life, Jay acknowledged, “The show has brought about significant changes in my life and career. It’s like a true comeback for me. I even receive messages from industry peers. There’s been a multitude of approaches.”
