Actor Mark Ruffalo has spoken out against former President Donald Trump and America’s billionaire class, calling them the real threat to the country — not immigrants. The Oscar nominee and Avengers star shared his views in a recent social media video and Instagram post.
Ruffalo said immigrants are not criminals, but people who “add to our economy by the billions.” He argued that billionaires are the true villains, accusing them of making life harder for ordinary Americans. “It’s time to take our country back from extreme wealth that has its hands all over the power of the nation,” he said.
In his statement, Ruffalo urged Trump supporters to reconsider where they place blame. “You want to get rid of the people who are picking your food, but don’t care about those poisoning your bodies with chemicals. You drive out those who make your life easier but don’t question the ones spreading lies meant to divide us. You’re pointing your guns in the wrong direction,” he wrote.
The actor called Trump a “grifter” who, along with his family, is enriching himself while misleading the public. Ruffalo also criticized tech billionaires for benefiting from public funds and pursuing personal ambitions like space travel, while ordinary people struggle. “You are worried about the poorest of the poor ruining your life?” he asked. “Meanwhile, the billionaire up top is stealing you blind.”
Ruffalo added that these wealthy figures ignore serious issues such as AIDS, famine, and political persecution. He accused them of cutting essential programs, including cancer research, while Americans suffer.
Beyond activism, Ruffalo remains busy in his acting career. He recently appeared in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 and will star in the upcoming film Crime 101, set for release in 2026. He is also the lead in HBO’s Task, a police drama from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby, premiering in September.
